THE EGGMAN PRESENTS
RBW represents a collection of artisan wines created by Robin Baum in Italy, using traditional methods that enhance the natural character of the grapes. Robin’s bespoke approach involves the use of ceramic egg-shaped vessels, which enhances the circulation of juice and interaction with the lees during fermentation, allowing for more complex and refined flavours. His pioneering use of these vessels has made him a well-known figure in the world of natural wine.
Starting in Chianti, Robin expanded his ceramic egg collection, working with producers in Veneto, Montalcino and Sicily to craft an outstanding portfolio of wines. The benefits of using ceramic eggs include:
1. Natural slow oxidation of the wine
2. Temperature control through natural cooling via the porous walls of the vessel
3. The vessels are inert, showcasing the wine’s natural characteristics with no external influence.
All the vineyards where Robin works follow organic or biodynamic practices, ensuring the wines are as natural as possible.

In November 2023, RBW Wines participated in the Merano Wine Festival for the first time, a prestigious event in the Alto-Adige region of Northern Italy. After blind tastings by the WineHunter panel, our wines earned multiple accolades, including:

Winemakers Club Italia makes wines under its RBW brand label in wineries situated in Veneto, Sicily and Montalcino as well as Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti.
Together with Setriolo in Castellina MERLOT 2019 was matured for 2 years in my original Magnum 675 ceramic egg made in Barossa Valley, Australia.
In Veneto in partnership with Contra Soarda VENETO BIANCO 2020 and PINOT NERO 2018 both matured in Clayver trio ceramic vessels . Yes, of course they are egg shaped!
In Sicily we have just bottled ETNA ROSSO 2019, 100 per cent Nerello Mascalese grown on the northern slopes of Mt Etna.
In Montalcino, BRUNELLO 2015 made in partnership with Fattoria dei Barbi and, of course, 100 per cent Sangiovese.

Each year, Robin Baum produces a limited-edition wine, crafted from exceptional grapes and matured in his signature ceramic egg vessels. Past releases have included unique blends, such as the 2017 (46% Merlot, 36% Alicante Bousquet and 18% Sangiovese) and the 2018 (Sangiovese), both of which showcase the purity of the grape without the influence of oak.
In 2022, a 95% Merlot blend, matured in an Australian Magnum 675 ceramic egg, was released in a limited run of just 800 bottles. This wine demonstrates the true character of Merlot, delivering a smooth, silky experience with a distinct fruit-forward profile.
