RBW represents a collection of artisan wines created by Robin Baum in Italy, using traditional methods that enhance the natural character of the grapes. Robin’s bespoke approach involves the use of ceramic egg-shaped vessels, which enhances the circulation of juice and interaction with the lees during fermentation, allowing for more complex and refined flavours. His pioneering use of these vessels has made him a well-known figure in the world of natural wine.
Starting in Chianti, Robin expanded his ceramic egg collection, working with producers in Veneto, Montalcino and Sicily to craft an outstanding portfolio of wines. The benefits of using ceramic eggs include:
1. Natural slow oxidation of the wine
2. Temperature control through natural cooling via the porous walls of the vessel
3. The vessels are inert, showcasing the wine’s natural characteristics with no external influence.
