Riserva 2016 Chianti Classico Tasting Notes

100% Sangiovese aged in 25% Clayver Ceramic vessel, 25% Stockinger 5-hl oak cask, 30% Mittelberger, and 20% porcelain egg. Bottled July 2019.
Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Same amplified mineralogy as the non-reserve 2016 Chianti Classico, and almost a little saline with sweet cherry underneath. High-pitched acidity on fragrant, spicy sour-cherry fruit with bags of salty tannings. Supple and with a medium, rather than a full bodied weight to it. Slightly drying on the finish, but the tannins give a nice grating feel to the fruit. (WS) 13,5%
